Dr. Ronald Hammer has 28 years of clinical experience in family practice with emphasis on auto, sports and industrial injuries. He uses manipulative care, myofascial release, nutritional counseling, and exercise stabilization to treat a variety of musculosketal conditions. His drugless approach helps many people recover function and avoid needless pain and disability. He specializes in chiropractic orthopedics and occupational health testing to help small businesses and industry control costs and strive for a drug-free work place.
Doctor Hammer was born and raised in North Dakota. Many have asked why he became a chiropractor and he enjoys telling his story. After graduating from college with a degree in teaching, he injured his back and consulted with a chiropractor. It was a life changing experience not only because of his healing process, but the holistic approach to healing without drugs appealed to him. He decided to move to California and attend the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. After another four years of college and working with a doctor in Castro Valley, California, he and his wife, Betty, along with their twin sons, moved to Petaluma and so began Hammer Chiropractic Office. Dr. Hammer and Betty have lived and practiced in Petaluma for the past 28 years. Besides the twin boys, two daughters came along. They are also proud grandparents of two. The children are grown and on their own and life at Hammer Chiropractic Office is as exciting as ever.
 Dr. Hammer is a certified Breath Alcohol Technician "BAT" and certified Professional Collector Trainer "CPCT". The interest in drug detection and prevention has developed into a secondary line of business within the chiropractic office. Among other tests, we offer hair collection for detection of drug use. Dr. Hammer provides drug and alcohol testing for businesses as well as individuals needing the services. Many of the occupational testing services are mandated for Safety Sensitive workers.
Dr. Hammer also provides certified collection procedures for DNA testing thru Genetica Laboratories for paternity, grandparent verification, sibling relationships and twin information. The addition of drug, alcohol and DNA testing and collection services has added a new energy to the practice.

Juliette, our perky front desk assistant has four years chiropractic experience (she started working in a chiropractic office at 14 years old) She is a college student and has been with our office for about one year.
Jenny, our insurance administrator, has been with Hammer Chiropractic for about eight years. She knows everything there is to know about insurance and is always willing to assist you with any insurance problem or question you may have.
Evie, our all around assistant, has been with us since the beginning (28 years). She is the one that keeps files up to date and the office looking neat and organized.
